What meaning does our cover title, Holding the World to a Higher Standard, hold for you? Perhaps your initial thought was, “Yes, they have to do better!” Your understanding of “they” may be: governments, corporations, educational & financial institutions, healthcare systems, the food industry, employers, parents, etc.

Giving it a little thought, did it also occur to you that “they” is actually you? Yep, to paraphrase: “we have met the ‘they’ and they are us.” Probably not what most of us prefer to hear, but we have always been they and we will always be they. Be they as they may. We need to hold ourselves, individually, to a higher standard – a higher standard of intentions, a higher standard of relationships – to all life forms – and a higher standard of being and acting in the world.

In our lead article, Miquel don Ruiz, asks Help Me to Change the World. By change, he is referring to realizing a global goal whereby all people live in truth and harmony. However, you cannot change the planet if you do not change your inner world first. It all begins in your head (thoughts) and manifests in the world through the Love expressed in your heart.

We are so appreciative of our advertisers; especially those that have stayed with us through every economic turn. As a tangible display of our thanks, we are debuting the Advertiser Spotlight, which will shine the light, on one advertiser per issue. It is with affection that we introduce Harley Matsil, the founder and owner of Perfect Foods Wheatgrass. Harley anchors most of our issues with his always fun and informative full-page ads on our back cover. A pioneer in the natural foods industry, he has long been an avid supporter of Creations Magazine. Please consider our advertising partners and let them know that their ad dollars do make a positive difference.
