This past year marked the 25th anniversary of Creations Magazine.
As you know, this publication has been 100% Advertiser supported throughout
its lifetime, enabling us to provide Creations, free of charge, to our
readers. Through all of the changes of this past quarter century, Creations
has continually delivered the articles, poems, resources and reviews
that Inspire the Soul.
While times change, our responsibility to our loyal readers and advertisers
does not. However, there are several factors that require us to tweak
our business practices. Production, printing and distribution costs
have been continuously climbing. Passing these increases on to our advertisers,
at this time, is simply not an option.
Therefore, in seeking a fair solution, Creations Magazine has decided
to borrow from the successful model of listener-supported, Independent
and Public Radio – –where members support their local stations
with voluntary, financial contributions. I have been a long-time supporter
of NPR and I'd bet many of you are members as well. We support these
organizations because we know we're receiving content that we will never
see or hear on the Networks. We value the information and the entertainment
they provide.
Many of you feel the same way about Creations Magazine. As an entirely
independent publication, we deliver content you're not likely to find
in any other media outlet. Well over 125,000 readers, comprised of individuals,
businesses and educational institutions, value the information and inspiration
that we have been providing for 25-plus years. So, we're asking our
readers to join us, in partnership with our advertisers,
as we shift to becoming a partially reader-supported magazine.
