A Reason, a Season, a Lifetime.

Virtually all Human relationships have a beginning, middle and end. Although our connections to those we love continue in spirit, even relationships that last until “death do us part” invariably come to a physical end for the surviving partner. Many of us have had close friendships with people with whom we later fell completely out of touch. Others who have experienced dificult divorces may lament their marital choice. Seeing the bigger picture brings a clearer understanding into focus. In the lead article of our February/ March Relationship Issue, Alan Cohen provides clarity for anyone looking to reconcile past unions.

Integrity and Relationship to Self

Our relationship with ourselves is one of our primary relationships, yet surprisingly, often overlooked. Self-respect and self love are the key elements; compromise is not recommended here. This is where we need to say NO to “them” and YES to ourselves. We need to say “no” to all those who would have us compromise our integrity for their personal gain. We do have the option of saying “no” to every person and institution that attempt to dumb us down. And in every moment, we have the option to not participate in negativity. For starters, we can turn off the TV. It can be done: I tuned out almost a decade ago – really. Shield yourself from mindless and insipid programming and endless, obnoxious and violent commercials. Say “no” to the Reality shows and Celebrity/ Gossip mags that take pleasure in others pain. This audio visual garbage sickens our minds. Say “no” to eating products unfit for consumption and “no” to those that contribute to the pain and suffering of animals. Corporations spend billons of ad dollars in order to convince you it’s food, when in reality, this junk sickens our bodies. Say “no” to the powers that be, who have been systematically stripping away our basic human rights. This crime sickens our souls. And collectively, this sickens the planet’s shared heart.

It’s All Good!

Creations Magazine is sponsoring a truly special event by … be the example, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, “created to inspire and empower others to live from the heart.” An event NOT to be compared or confused with any other wellness fair/expo, this “heart-filled” day is Sunday, March 18, at the beautiful de Seversky Mansion on the campus of NYIT in Brookville, L.I. One unique feature of the day is that there is NO ENTRANCE FEE. Instead, you will have an opportunity to make a donation as you leave, based upon what you feel the day was worth to you. You’ll be nourishing your soul and supporting a terrific organization. For more details, please see our ad on the back cover.

Friends of Creations Magazine

Our new program is off to a promising start: Creations Magazine is now an advertiser and reader supported publication. We extend a huge thank you to our charter members for their financial show of support, and especially for their heartfelt messages that accompanied each contribution. The most poignant one accompanied a $5 contribution from a NYC reader who telephoned saying “I’m not able to send much because I’ve been unemployed for quite a while, but I wanted to give something because I’ve enjoyed reading your magazine for years.” A Cold Spring Harbor woman eloquently stated, “I appreciate your wisdom in finding a way to continue without disturbing the flow we so appreciate in these turbulent times.” And we so appreciate the support that’s been “flowing” in our direction.

In case you missed our proposal in the Decemember/January edition, you can review this, and all our back issues, on creationsmagazine.com. You’ll want to visit our website regularly for additional articles, Media Reviews and new events postings that you won’t find in our print edition. Please see the ad on this page for details on how you can become a Friend of Creations Magazine.

This is the year of the Great Shift as we and our planet, collectively evolve to becoming our heart’s true desire for compassion, kindness and gratitude. Let 2012 be the year we consistently live from our hearts and empower and inspire others to do the same, as humanity moves towards a universally connected and peaceful existence.

With Much Gratitude,
Neil & Andrea

Integrity

“ … when you fight for your integrity, you feel alive. When you hide your feelings and come to believe the lies you tell others, you begin to grow apart from yourself. In time, some people no longer remember who they were or who they are, because they stand for nothing other than what they think others want them to say or think. They rationalize their self-deceit because they want something: money, a promotion, a corner office, or maybe friendships with people who have power. By denying what they feel in their heart, the price they pay is their integrity. In time, the lies and the denial of who you really are can become the root cause of illness. The body gets out of balance because the mind and body are one, they walk together, and the lies, the distortions, and the denial of our genuine feelings can make us sick. Sick because we are not happy with ourselves. Illness is our body’s way of underlining that something is out of balance. It is all about integrity.”
